WHAT I DO

Sim racing is a form of virtual racing that uses a racing wheel to control a digital car on a track. The game software uses physics engines to replicate real-world dynamics, such as tire wear, aerodynamics, and suspension. The games range from arcade-style to highly realistic simulators that require players to manage fuel consumption, pit stops, and weather conditions.

Simulators are more advanced setups that include motion platforms, multiple screens or VR headsets, and racing seats. Professional racing teams and manufacturers use simulators to train drivers, test new car designs, and develop real-life race strategies.

Sim racing is also a competitive sport, with leagues, competitions, and events held worldwide for amateurs and professionals. Skilled drivers can earn cash prizes and sponsorships. Advancements in technology have made sim racing increasingly popular among motorsport enthusiasts, providing an affordable and accessible way to experience the excitement of racing.

- I have been a sim racer since 1997, admittedly at that time the term sim racer or sim racing did not exist at all. We were just kids who loved to play racing games on our beloved PlayStation 1.

- I love sim racing because it allows me to experience the thrill of racing. Sim racing provides an immersive experience with realistic physics, graphics, and sound effects that make the experience feel like a real race.

- I can compete against others online, improving my skills and challenging myself to become better racers. Additionally, sim racing allows me to try out different courses and vehicles that I may not have the opportunity to experience in real life. Overall, sim racing appeals to those who love racing and want to experience it in a safe, convenient, and exciting way.
